Responder Toolkit
Partners & Families

You carry more than people see.

The missed moments. The changing schedules. The time apart. The worry. The responsibilities that don't stop when your partner is away. Whether your family is connected to first response, military service, or both, this space is for you.

Practical tools, guidance, and resources for your well-being and your relationships.

Optional: tailor examples to your family. You can change this anytime, and all tools stay available no matter what you pick.

Worried About My Partner

How to notice, how to name it, and when to reach for more than a conversation.

Ordinary, often temporary

  • •More quiet than usual after hard shifts or difficult experiences
  • •Trouble sleeping or shorter temper for a few days
  • •Not wanting to talk about certain calls or deployments
  • •Pulling back from social plans occasionally

Worth professional support

  • •Persistent hopelessness or talk of not wanting to be here
  • •Drinking or substance use that escalates
  • •Withdrawal that deepens over weeks
  • •Any mention of suicide or violence toward self or others

A short example

"I've noticed you haven't seemed like yourself the last few weeks — more withdrawn, and the sleep thing seems worse. I'm not trying to fix you. I'm worried, and I'd like us to talk to someone. Can we look at options together this week?"

You're not diagnosing. You're naming what you see and asking for help — not demanding they explain themselves.

If there's any mention of suicide or violence

Treat it seriously. You don't have to assess whether they mean it. Reach for professional help now. This app is not live crisis monitoring or professional assessment.

What stays on your device

Everything you type here — your check-in, your conversation starter, your reconnection plan, your separation and reunion plan — stays in your browser on this device. It isn't sent to a server, stored in a database, passed to an AI, or included in analytics. Clear or restart and it's gone. This isn't end-to-end encryption and it isn't absolute anonymity — it's just that we don't collect it.

What this is — and isn't

These are self-guided educational and wellness tools. They are not professional mental health treatment, crisis response, or emergency monitoring. If you're in crisis or unsafe, reach for the urgent resources listed above. No part of this app reports your responses to any agency, branch of service, or administrator.
